Every record is linked to the one before it by a fingerprint (a hash). Change an old record and every fingerprint after it stops matching. Try it below.
- Edit the text of any record.
- Watch the chain break from that record onward.
- Press Restore, or add a correction as a new entry. The chain stays valid.
The log
This is a demonstration of the principle with sample data. The fingerprints (SHA-256) are computed in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. The real log of the product holds more fields, and its exports are signed.
